Gangaji, 2021
For part of 2020 and 2021 I took a break from my series of large-scale portraits to paint a small (but no less developed) portrait of my teacher, Gangaji. She helped me find fulfillment, and I am eternally grateful.
Juneau Wildlife Portraits
In 2022, Chris and I spent a third of the year in Juneau. Away from my studio, I decided to paint small (10x8") and quick (3-day) acrylic paintings of wildlife, using Chris's (Christopher Grau's) photographs. I selected only the photographs where the animal is looking at the viewer, intending to capture the transmission in the awareness.
Rock Faces
After I finished with the wildlife portraits, I had fun painting imaginary faces on rocks.
