Gangaji, 2021

For part of 2020 and 2021 I took a break from my series of large-scale portraits to paint a smaller (but no less developed) portrait of my teacher, Gangaji.  Truly an honor. This portrait is now at the Gangaji Foundation in Ashland, Oregon.

Self Portrait, 1995

Unfortunately, I don't have a better image of the painting, but this self-portrait at age eighteen was a big step for me as an artist. My intention with the self-portrait was to find out who I was in a deeper way. This was also my first large-scale, close-up portrait and that focus really resonated with me. Soon after I went to art school and got pulled into different directions, but I treasure that even as a teen I was already drawn to this theme.
